Introduction

Hi, Iโ€™m Becky Anthony, a running nerd in Phoenix, Arizona! Iโ€™m here to help you achieve those big, exciting goals youโ€™ve been dreaming about. Iโ€™ve lived in various places, including Wisconsin, Minnesota, Mississippi, and Connecticut, but now I call Phoenix home. I live here with my husband, young son, and dog, balancing the busy life of a business owner, coach, runner, and mom. My journey started with competitive swimming. Early on, I learned that consistency, hard work, and setting small goals are key ingredients to loving a sport. But just as important, staying healthy and hungry for more. During my swimming career, I began running as cross-training, and what started as a side activity became my main passion. Fast-forward a few decades, and Iโ€™ve gone from running just a few times a week to qualifying for the Boston Marathon, coaching others, and expanding my racing from the roads to the trails, from the mile to the marathon. After a decade in science education, I launched Taylored Training to merge my love for running with my passion for teaching and helping others achieve their goals. And I havenโ€™t looked back!

Coaching Background

My coaching career started as a swim coach when I was a teenager, where I worked with kids of all ages for several years. This coaching expanded to supporting the conditioning of various teams at the high school I taught at and the cross-country team. Finally, I started supporting friends as they went after big goals in running.  Since launching Taylored Training in 2020, I have worked virtually and in person with athletes to chase their performance goals. I have helped them set PRs and BQs and break big barriers, like three-hour marathons. In addition to my extensive history in education, coaching, and exercise physiology, I also hold a VDOT O2 Distance Coaching Certification, am a C4 Certified Coaches Collective Coach, and regularly collaborate with others in the space to improve my knowledge and skills in nutrition, injury prevention, sports psychology, and training theory.

Coaching Philosophy

My coaching philosophy involves building a strong, injury-resistant foundation first. Then, strategically develop all aspects of your running, ensuring training stays fun, engaging, and effective. Iโ€™m a big believer in sustainability. If something isnโ€™t working for you, weโ€™ll tweak it until it does. Your training plan should feel like your plan, customized to fit your life and goals. I aim to ensure you enjoy the journey, see real progress, and, most importantlyโ€”have fun! After all, itโ€™s just running.
